It’s that time again.
We have some cool things we have lined up to give away on the site, so this will be the first of many more. We hope to do this on a somewhat semi-regular basis.
We’re switching how we do things a little with giveaways, though, as we’re going with the RaffleCopter widget below. It helps us verify that entries are being done correctly, which is what we needed.
It also helps us with a random winner based on the entries.
Here’s the best, too — it allows many ways to get extra entries to this giveaway. I’ll get into how the widget works in a moment, but let me tell you what we’re giving away, first.
This is a RattlingChains.com gift pack. It includes:
- A DGA Breaker from the tournament we co-sponsored this past March.
- Two (2) Rattling Chains minis, made by Zing Minis. One is an Aerofoil, the other is a minifoil.
- A Rattling Chains bag tag. Only 20 were made (numbered 1-20) and only a few remain.
- A Rattling Chains weatherproof/reusable scorecard.
The winner will be chosen at random by RaffleCopter at the end of the giveaway.
How it works: To gain entries, you have to do the items below. The first is mandatory — a comment on the blog — and you have to answer a question, which you can see when you click on that option.
Once you do that, the other items unlock and you can see what is there. You can earn more entries by tweeting each day, too. If you click on the tweet button under that option, there’s a tweet ready to go for you! Just make sure you’re already signed in.
Enjoy and have fun! Good luck!

That bag tag looks slick. To be honest, the entire prize looks pretty desirable.

Love me some new plastic, in all its forms. No matter what, I hope this blog continues. It has almost replaced in every way my need to read the PDGA Disc Golf Magazine. Thanks for your hard work and sacrifice to bring us the awesome information you do.

I’ve only been playing for a year and a bit but so many great memories in such a short time. I’ve traveled up and down the east coast of Australia for tournaments, road trips with mates and sleeping on another disc golfers floor. The great group of people that I spent almost a week with for the Victorian Open in April is definitely up there but I think the best one was at the Queensland Open last year, actually after the tournament had finished. Back at the house we were staying at, having a number of post tourney beers and ciders and hucking plastic in the front yard. Then all of the info that our most awesome American host had been giving me made sense and out of nowhere, I was suddenly hitting putts in the heart of the chains, fueled by alcohol, from 30ft.
Sadly, sober me doesn’t remember how 😦

I have many great memories from disc golfing, some of my fondest include meeting random people at courses and becoming friends with them, and gaining new people to play with. My favorite though, is the time I gave a new player his first disc. I was practicing putts and saw a young kid, probably no more than 8 or 9 years old playing with a regular catch frisbee. His mom asked where they could buy discs and I told them about the local stores that sell them, but I also pulled a disc I hardly used out of my bag and gave it to him, his face light up and and he ran back and forth throwing it. It was a lot of fun to see someone start their disc career.

My best disc golf memory is actually a compilation of all the times we’ve gone out. My brother introduced me to the sport when he was visiting last year. My husband and I loved it, and my parents loved it. For Christmas we got my girls some discs and a bag. Ever since, we’ve played together every weekend that we could. It’s a great way to spend time as a family!

I’d say my best DG memory is from the first day I played back in ’83. Once I found the sport I was hooked! I was terrible but knew I wanted to get better – something I’m still trying to do 30 years later.
